Surfer riding inside a barreling turquoise wave in Siargao, Philippines

Siargao Island, Philippines

Surfing Siargao

Having a bad day? Catch a wave. World-class breaks start right in front of the resort.

Why the waves are world class

The Surfing Capital

Siargao is the Surfing Capital of the Philippines. The sea bed drops to 500 meters, then to 1,500 meters just a mile off Tuason Point, and 30 miles from General Luna it reaches 10,000 meters deep. Typhoons in season pass to the northeast, bringing big waves from deep water.

In front of Patrick's are many good surfing spots for beginners and advanced surfers alike. We run first-class surfing and transport with our own vans and pump-boats, and pair island breaks with island hopping boat tours whenever the swell allows.

World famous

Cloud 9

World-famous barreling right-hander, one of the most well-known breaks worldwide. A long jetty gives spectators a front-row seat during international competitions.

National, regional and international competitions land here every September and October, the heart of the season.

Barreling right-hander over reef

Tuason Point

Hard breaking left that jumps up 200 yards offshore over shallow rocky reef. Very powerful, best at 4 foot and up.

Bombora / Poo Shooter's

Fast barreling left along a reef that turns right into deep water. Best with no wind or a light southwest breeze.

Cemetery

Left and right between a reef gap, directly in front of the General Luna cemetery. Walking distance from Patrick's.
